SOLIDitech has once again joined the Nelson Mandela University Computing Sciences Department as a sponsorship of their 2018 Young African Women in Computing (YAWiC) Winter Coding Camp.
Once again, SOLIDitech is very excited to be hosting a stand at the UCT Careers Festival. There will be freebies, multiple competitions and real life Software Engineers that you can come ask questions and chat to - don’t be shy, come say hi!
On 20 July 2018, our Joburg team spent their Friday afternoon at Gold Reef City Theme Park. There were a few who played it safe - either safely on the ground or on the less churn-your-stomach rides. The adrenaline junkies amongst the team, however, decided to fly, swing and flip on various rides.
During the course of June 2018, we gave each of our teams the chance to choose what they did for their Q2 Team Building Event. Each team got to choose from a ‘menu’ of fun and exciting activities, which catered to everyone and ranged from Sorbet treatments, Acrobranch and Go-Karting.
Presenting your best self in an interview is based on a certain set of skills that you can easily learn. SOLIDitech is proud to have been involved in the UCT Mock Interview Day which was a great opportunity to help students receive valuable feedback and interview experience.
SOLIDitech’s first Team Events Day of 2018 was a huge success! While SOLID Johannesburg competed with guns in a Black Ops Laser Tag Tournament, SOLID Cape Town competed with braai tongs and charcoal in SOLIDitech’s 2018 Braai Master Challenge.
To ring in 2018, on 19 January we invited Emma Dicks, Code4CT founder, and 3 charity ambassadors to visit the SOLIDitech offices. We wanted to meet some of the women benefitting from the charity, get to know them and show them exactly what we do.
On 08 December 2017, SOLID staff and their partners spent the afternoon having fun in the sun, eating delicious food and riding the Cobra and the Congo Queen. After a quick change, everyone arrived at the Officer’s Club to celebrate another successful year. There was music, magic and super heroes.
SOLIDitech is a proud sponsor of NMU’s 2017 Young African Women in Computing Coding Camp. The objective is to expose young learners, whose schools do not offer Information Technology as a school subject, to IT, as a potential career.
In the spirit of celebrating all the successful 2017 projects, we’ll be running a year-end promotion giving one of our lucky customers an opportunity to win a R 2,000 Takealot voucher! All you have to do is log onto SOLID’s Help site and guess what we have hidden in our very christmassy-looking Christmas stocking. Keep a look out for regular clues!
