SOLIDitech was honoured to be invited by the University of Cape Town (UCT) Development Society (Devsoc) to present at their #breaktherules event on Saturday 06 April 2019. We may be a bit biased, but we totally kicked ass! #breaktherules is…
The straight shooters amongst the team were offered membership forms, while others were advised to keep their day jobs (lucky for us 😉 ). Overall the team had a great time and we are relieved to say that no Software Engineer, Scrummy or QA Specialist was injured during this event.
After hours of stair climbing, water sliding, adrenaline pumping fun we retreated to the relaxing spa pool where jets of water massaged our aching bodies. It is safe to say that the JHB Team enjoyed every second of the day, and have renewed memories of what the sun really looks like.
We joined forces with the NMU Computing Sciences Department for this Season’s YAWiC Coding Camp. We were thrilled to be invited again in sponsorship for this wonderful and much needed initiative, which assists these young women in carving out their future careers.
To celebrate the “Wild” year, and to thank our staff and their partners, we enjoyed a Wild West night on Friday 7th December at The Range in Tokai, Cape Town. We got out our best Billy Ray Cyrus impressions and brushed up on our line dancing skills for an epic night of entertainment
Got 5’s Futbol Skills? That’s okay, neither do we ;). But we’re going to embrace the spirit anyway – all the in the interests of having a good time. Organised by a fellow staff member, we’re excited to be supporting the SOLID Fives Futbol Tournaments.
For our third quarterly team building event our teams ventured out of the office and into the sunshine. Our Johannesburg Team visited the Cradle of Humankind Heritage site while our Cape Town Team chased after clues in the Great SOLID Scavenger Hunt of 2018
Automation (and software in general) is becoming more and more essential to every-day operations. Attending the annual UCT Careers Festival not only gives us a chance to meet the next generation, but to chat to them and introduce them to the Software Development industry as a whole.
SOLIDitech has once again joined the Nelson Mandela University Computing Sciences Department as a sponsorship of their 2018 Young African Women in Computing (YAWiC) Winter Coding Camp.
Once again, SOLIDitech is very excited to be hosting a stand at the UCT Careers Festival. There will be freebies, multiple competitions and real life Software Engineers that you can come ask questions and chat to – don’t be shy, come say hi!
