We joined forces with the NMU Computing Sciences Department for this Season’s YAWiC Coding Camp. We were thrilled to be invited again in sponsorship for this wonderful and much needed initiative, which assists these young women in carving out their future careers.
We’re more than a few job titles – We’re from all over the place, believe in all sorts of things and enjoy working together. So it makes sense that we love being active together too. SOLIDitech provides ample opportunity for its staff to be active and healthy, including a number of sports and activities, check it out and see what is available.
In the Summer 2018-2019 University holiday period, we welcomed 6 Interns to the SOLIDitech Team. Each Intern had the opportunity to work side-by-side with real Software Engineers, assisting our customers and committing real code.
To celebrate the “Wild” year, and to thank our staff and their partners, we enjoyed a Wild West night on Friday 7th December at The Range in Tokai, Cape Town. We got out our best Billy Ray Cyrus impressions and brushed up on our line dancing skills for an epic night of entertainment
We believe that our industry is built on the skills and innovations of our workforces. To this end, we partnered with Code4CT, a Cape Town-based charity, this Festive Season to ‘introduce 100 Girls to Code’.

Got 5’s Futbol Skills? That’s okay, neither do we ;). But we’re going to embrace the spirit anyway – all the in the interests of having a good time. Organised by a fellow staff member, we’re excited to be supporting the SOLID Fives Futbol Tournaments.
For our third quarterly team building event our teams ventured out of the office and into the sunshine. Our Johannesburg Team visited the Cradle of Humankind Heritage site while our Cape Town Team chased after clues in the Great SOLID Scavenger Hunt of 2018
As the weather gets warmer and the braai grids and flip-flops come out – We South Africans get excited and gear up for Heritage Day. Heritage Day is often unofficially referred to as ‘National Braai Day’, so we wanted to give our customers the opportunity to have the yummiest Heritage Day around (how does a R2,500 Woolworths Voucher sound?).
Automation (and software in general) is becoming more and more essential to every-day operations. Attending the annual UCT Careers Festival not only gives us a chance to meet the next generation, but to chat to them and introduce them to the Software Development industry as a whole.
